As a Redshirt Sophomore (2021-22): Swam in ten meets, equal to the most on the team… Was a relay swimmer at the NCAA Division II Championships… Earned a pair of Second Team CSCAA All-America honors after helping the Mavs to tenth and 12^th place finishes in the 400 and 200 free relays, respectively… Won two RMAC relay titles and two other All-RMAC honors in individual events at the conference meet… Helped the Mavs set a RMAC Championship, pool and school-record time of 3:23.92 (3:23.52-converted) in the 400 free relay… Also led off the Mavs’ winning 200 free relay team… Set NCAA “B” qualifying times in the 50, 100 and 200 free events as well… Claimed the silver medal and First Team All-RMAC honors in the 50 free after posting a PB time of 23.82 seconds in the prelims to rank ninth in program history… Won the bronze medal and second team all-conference plaudits in the 100 free with a third place time of 51.67 (converted)… Ranks tenth in program history with that time… Finished fifth in the 200 free with an adjusted time of 1:53.05… Won the consolation final while placing ninth overall in the 500 free with a PB time of 5:06.16… Helped the Mavs “B” 800 free relay team win their section and place ninth overall… Was named as a CSCAA First Team Scholar All-American… Also named to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll.

As a Sophomore (2020-21): Competed in four dual meets… Had season-best times of 25.19 (50 free) and 54.73 (100 free), both set against BYU on Jan. 22… Named to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll.

As a Freshman (2019-20): Competed in ten meets, including the RMAC Championships as an exhibition swimmer… Posted season-best times of 54.07 (100 free), and 1:00.37 (100 back) at that meet… Had other season-bests of 24.45 (50 free) and 1:57.33 (200 free) at the A3 Performance Invitational… Won the 50 free at the Jan. 18 dual against Western Colorado.

Prep: Placed seventh in the 50 free (24.61) at the 2018 AIA Meet of Champions while at Tucson High Magnet School... Also took fourth in both the 50 and 100 free at the state championships... Was the anchor leg on the Badgers' top 8 finishing... Had placed seventh in the 100 free as a junior at the 2017 State Championships as a junior... Coached by Christopher Harrison.

Personal: Son of Michael Heinz and Erin Bottai... Younger brother is Miles, who is also a swimmer... Is majoring in mass communications... Enjoys hanging out with friends and listening to music.
