Biography



Before CMU: Swam for two seasons (2022-24) at Division I New Mexico before representing King Aquatic Club in several USA Swimming sanctioned meets over the last year plus in the Pacific Northwest.

2023-24 (Sophomore @ New Mexico): Turned in season-best times in four events at the Mountain West Conference Championships, posting CSCAA Championship “B” Cut Times of 17:06.51 and 2:17.91 in the 1650 Free and 200 Breast, respectively… Placed 11th in the 1650 Free and 15th in the 200 Breast… Also took 22nd in the 500 Free and swam on the Lobos’ ninth place 800 Free Relay team… Won the 200 Breast in a Jan. 20 dual against Wyoming after taking the 1000 Free in a Jan. 6 dual against North Texas… Turned in several other second place finishes… Had a season-best 500 Free time of 5:00.85 at the UNLV Invitational, a meet the Mavs also competed in.

2022-23 (Freshman @ New Mexico): Set season-best times of 1:54.25 (200 Free), 17:24.76 (1650 Free), 1:04.38 (100 Breast) and 2:18.60 (200 Breast) at the Mountain West Conference Championships… Placed 18th in the 1650 Free, 20th in the 200 Breast and swam a leg on the Lobos’ ninth place 800 Free Relay team… Swept the breaststroke events in a Jan. 28 dual against New Mexico State… Won the 500 Free in a dual against Nevada just a week prior… Had a season-best 500 Free time of 4:58.99 at the UNLV Invitational.

Prep/Club: 2022 graduate of Puyallup High School… Was a 3-event finalist at the 2023 Pacific Northwest Senior Championships while swimming for King Aquatic Club… Placed second in the 800-meter freestyle and 200 breaststroke while finishing third in the 100 breast… Was also a Speedo Sectionals finalist in three events in 2023, placing second in the 1500 free… Finished seventh in that discipline at the 2022 USA Swimming Futures Championship.

Personal: Is majoring in biology… Had a strong career interest in medical translation… Has one sibling— Cota.
