2023-24 (Junior): Competed in eight meets, including one event at the RMAC Championships before missing out on the rest of the year due to injury… Set a NCAA Championship provisional qualifying time of 2:18.69 (altitude-adjusted) in the 200 Breast at the TYR/CMU Invitational… Also had other season-bests of 1:05.41 (100 Breast), 58.16 (100 Fly) and 2:08.85 (200 IM) at that meet… The 100 Fly time was also a career-best… Took 12
th in the 200 IM at the RMAC Championships (2:08.96-converted) in her lone conference championship event… Finished the season ranked sixth on the RMAC performers list in the 200 Breast and ninth in the 100 Breast… Named as a CSCAA Scholar All-American and to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll.
2022-23 (Sophomore): Competed in ten meets, including the RMAC and NCAA Division II National Championships… Was an exhibition swimmer at the conference meet… Turned in multiple season-bests at the conference meet, including a personal-best and NCAA qualifying time of 2:16.24 (altitude-adjusted) in a 200-yard breaststroke time trial… Ranks third in program history in that discipline… Moved into the No. 9 spot of Maverick history in the 100 breast with a time of 1:04.79 (altitude-adjusted)… Also had season-best times of 58.99 (100) and 2:06.33 (200) in butterfly events… Placed 28
th in the 200 breast in her NCAA Championship debut with a time of 2:21.88… Earned First Team CSCAA Scholar All-America honors… Was named to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll.
2021-22 (Freshman): Competed in six meets, including the RMAC Championships… Earned a pair of All-RMAC honors, claiming a first team plaudit thanks to a second place finish in the 200 breast… Posted a NCAA “B” Cut time of 2:20.89 to take the silver medal behind only her teammate Lily Borgenheimer, the eventual national champion… Also finished fourth in the 200 IM to claim second team honors… Did so with a season-best altitude-adjusted time of 2:07.27… Went on to set an improved NCAA provisional qualifying time of 2:18.76 in the 200 breast to at the Royal Open, a last chance meet in Charlotte, North Carolina… Ranks third in CMU history with that time… Finished sixth in the 100 breast and 12
th in the 100 fly at the RMAC Championships… Set season-best times of 59.93 (100 fly) and 1:05.80 (100 breast) during the conference meet… Accounted for 50 team points in her four individual events… Also helped the Mavs finish tenth overall as the lead-off leg on the “B” 200 Free Relay team… Was named as a Second Team CSCAA Scholar All-American after faring well in the classroom.
Prep: 2021 graduate of Mahtomedi High School… Team MVP for Coach Mike Goldman and the Zephyrs… Set multiple individual and relay school-records… Was the section champion in multiple events winning both the 100 breast and 200 IM as a senior in the fall of 2020… Honored as the local newspaper’s athlete of the week.
Personal: Is majoring in business and aspires to become and entrepreneur and travel… Daughter of Jennifer Schmelz and Christopher Wilke… Sister Emma is on the swimming team at RMAC rival Western Colorado University… Enjoys cooking, singing, painting and rock climbing… Chose CMU because of the location and team.
