As a Sophomore (2024): RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll selection… Ran in two meets… Posted a career-best 5K time of 20:51.8 to finish 19th at the Mountaineer/Cowboy Open… Placed 86th at the Roadrunners Invitational with a 6K time of 24:41.1.

As a Freshman (2023): Ran in all five of the team’s meets, including the RMAC and NCAA Division II South Central Regional Championships… Finished 78th at the conference meet as the team’s sixth runner before taking 107th as the Mavs’ seventh finisher at the regional… Set a season-best 6K time of 23:59.5 to place 189th at the Lewis Crossover… Finished 33rd at the Mountaineer Invite with a season-best 5K time of 20:55.2… Placed 19th as the second Maverick finisher at the Gig Leadbetter Maverick Stampede, CMU’s home meet.

Prep: Was a 2-time Alaska Division II State XC Champion (2020 & 2021) for the Kenai Central HS Kardinals, coached by her father Todd Boonstra… Finished third as a senior after earlier setting a 5K XC PR of 19:21.6 at the KPBSD Borough Championships… Had six top-5 finishes during her senior season… Had three wins as a junior in 2021, winning the Region III Championships in the lead up to her second state title… Went on to finish 13th at the NXR Northwest Regional Championships… Won all five races during a dominant 2020 sophomore season… Was second at the borough and regional championships before taking fourth as a freshman in 2019… Won the Region 3 title in the 3,200 meters before finishing as the state runner-up during her 2023 senior track season… Was also the state runner-up in the 4x800-meter relay as a junior in 2022… Finished sixth at the state meet as a senior in the 1600… Was seventh (3200) and ninth (1600) at the 2022 championships as a junior… Has track PRs of 5:46 (1600) and 12:26 (3200).

Personal: Is majoring in biology… Aspires to use her degree to help work with rescue animals… Daughter of Todd and Kelli Boonstra… Has two sisters— Riana and Tania… Lists horseback riding, reading, baking and skiing as her favorite activities.

Why I Chose CMU: “I chose CMU because of the beautiful location of the campus, the ability to compete on a collegiate team, and to experience something outside of Alaska."
