Former Maverick runner and 2021 CMU graduate Will Schenk is in his second as an assistant coach for the Maverick Cross Country teams.
Schenk completed his bachelor’s degree in exercise science with a minor in sports management in May, 2021.   He also worked for the CMU Outdoor program for two years further developing his leadership skills.
During his three years on the Maverick cross country and track and field teams from 2017-20, Schenk was named to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference All-Academic Honor Roll four total times. He ran at two RMAC Cross Country Championships for the Mavericks setting an 8K career-best time of 26:37.8 when CMU hosted the meet in the fall of 2019 at Tiara Rado Golf Course.
He then went on to post career-best times of 4:50.10 (mile) and 9:53.08 (3K) during the following indoor track season in February, 2020.
Schenk is a 2017 graduate of William J. Palmer High School in Colorado Springs and comes from a family of runners. When not running, he enjoys other outdoor activities such as cycling, rafting and back-packing.
