As a Junior (2024): Earned a multitude of honors following a record-breaking season… Was named as the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) South Central Region Player of the Year as just the second Maverick to earn the honor (AnnMarie Torres, 2019)… Was also tabbed as the RMAC Player of the Year… Went on to earn First Team NFCA All-America honors in the at-large category… Was also selected as a D2CCA All-American at the shortstop position… Was a First Team All-South Central Region honoree by both organizations… Also earned First Team All-RMAC honors for the second time in her career at a second position (2
nd Base – 2022)… Hit a RMAC record 28 home runs to finish second in the national statistics and just one behind Abby Suite of Valdosta State’s total of 29… The 28 home runs is also tied for third most in Division II history and allowed her to break the former RMAC record of 25, set in 2005 by UCCS’ Crystal Krebs and matched in 2010 by MSU Denver’s Tara Mickelson… Smashed the CMU record of 21, set by RMAC All-Time Top Player Kelly Adams in 2001 and led the Mavericks to a national record team total of 123… Also finished second in the national statistics for home runs per game (0.49)… Set a NCAA All-Division record by hitting a home run in ten consecutive games between Mar. 22 and Apr. 6 against Black Hills State, New Mexico Highlands and Chadron State… Hit 15 home runs in that stretch, including eight in the Black Hills State series alone allowing her to earn Louisville Slugger/NFCA National and RMAC Player of the Week honors on Mar. 26… Matched a school-record with three home runs in a single game against the Yellow Jackets on Mar. 23… Had four in that day’s doubleheader after hitting four earlier bombs on the day before (Mar. 22), helping the Mavs set a new school-record and RMAC record matching eight in the opening game of that series… The Mavs hit 15 in the Mar. 22 doubleheader… Repeated the national and conference player of the week honors on Apr. 2 after hitting five more homers against New Mexico Highlands (Mar. 28-29) in the midst of the Mavs’ 33-game winning streak… Is the first Maverick to ever earn back-to-back National Player of the Week honors and the first to earn two in the same season… Is also the first to have earned three honors in her career… Set a RMAC and CMU record with 190 total bases to lead the country… That total is the fourth highest single-season total in Division II history and broke the school and conference records of 180 that Brooke Hodgson had put up in 2018… Finished second in the national statistics while leading the RMAC with a 1.027 slugging percentage, a new CMU record that surpassed the CMU record of 1.000 formerly held by Makayla Kovac since 2014… Also led the RMAC in runs scored (84), batting average (.470), on-base percentage (.548) and OPS (1.575)… The runs scored mark broke the RMAC and CMU record of 83, set by Maggie Manwarren in 2018, and was tied for second most in Division II history… Led the nation by a comfortable margin of seven runs and allowed her to rank second in the nation for runs per game behind only Virginia State’s Hailey Darrington, who only played in 30 games… Led the RMAC while ranking 11
th in the nation with a .470 batting average, sixth highest in program history… Tallied 87 hits, the second highest total in CMU history, in 185 at bats… Had 45 extra-base hits (15 doubles, 2 triples)… Had multiple hits in 24 games, including four separate 4-hit games… Recorded 68 RBIs to rank second in the RMAC with a total that is the fourth highest in Maverick history… Was also ranked tenth in the country for that category… Had 18 multiple RBI games, including a six RBI effort in the aforementioned Mar. 23 Black Hills State game… Finished the season with 26 walks… Was hit by six pitches… Was struck out just 18 times… Also stole ten bases, second most on the team… Reached safely in 51 consecutive games, posting a 27-game hitting streak in that stretch, stopped in the Mavs’ first game of the NCAA Tournament by Colorado Christian… Went 3-for-4 with two doubles on the following day in an elimination game win over the Cougars, sending the Mavs to the regional final against eventual national champion UT Tyler... Started all 57 of the Mavs’ games at shortstop after playing as a second baseman earlier in her career… Was part of 15 of the Mavs’ school record 32 double plays… Led the team with 127 assists while making 83 putouts… Was the team’s lead-off hitter in 52 games… Hit second in the Maverick lineup in the other five… Named to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll.
As a Sophomore (2023): Played and started 31 games before suffering what would be a season-ending injury… Led the team in batting average (.392) after recording 38 hits in 97 at bats… Also recorded 17 extra-base hits, hitting seven doubles, three triples and seven RBIs… Finished with a .742 slugging percentage and .469 on-base percentage… Drew 15 walks and struck out just eight times… Stole eight bases in nine attempts while committing just three errors in over 100 defensive chances, good for a .972 fielding percentage… Was named as both the NFCA NCAA Division II National and RMAC Player of the Week on Mar. 7 after exploding for six extra-base hits, including two home runs while going 10-for-13 with 11 runs scored and six RBIs in a 3-game series sweep at Adams State… Was named to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll and as an Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete.
As a Freshman (2022): Earned First Team All-RMAC honors as one of the top freshman in the conference… Hit .377 (58-154) while starting 51 games… Fifty of those starts were at second base while another was at shortstop… Was second on the team with that batting average… Played in 53 games as the only Maverick freshman to start regularly… Banged out ten doubles, four triples and five home runs… Was tied for the team lead in triples… Scored 39 runs while driving in 33… Was known as a clutch hitter, hitting .472 (25-53) with runners in scoring position and .434 (23-53) with two outs… Had a .591 slugging percentage after recording 91 total bases… Had a 4.26 on-base percentage and 1.017 OPS… Had 16 multiple-hit games, recording three hits in three different games… Had a 10-game hitting streak from Mar. 16-Apr. 2… Stole seven bases on ten attempts… Recorded a .955 fielding percentage, committing just eight errors.
Prep: Named as the Southwestern League Player of the Year in the fall of 2020 as a senior with the Central HS Warriors, coached by Scott Else… Also earned First Team 5A All-State honors… Was a First Team All-SWL pick as a junior in 2019 as well.
Personal: Is majoring in exercise science… Wants to become a K-12 physical education teacher… Mother is Yvette Luster… Stepdad is Kevin LaRose… Has three older siblings— Elena, Chase and Marisa…. Loves playing yard games with family and playing with her dogs.
Why I Chose CMU: “I chose CMU because it is my hometown and I get to be closer to family.”
