PJ Gonzalez is entering his third year assisting the Maverick softball program. He works primarily with the outfielders as well as the hitters.
With Gonzalez's assistance, the Mavericks have led the country in scoring in each of the past two seasons. He also guided 2018 All-American outfielders Brooke Hodgson and Maggie Manwarren, the 2018 RMAC Defensive Player of the Year, and 2019 all-region outfielder Brooke Doumer.
Prior to coaching at CMU, Gonzalez was a member of the Mavericks' baseball team from 2014-2017 as an outfielder. He was a member of the 2014 NCAA National Runner Up and 2017 NCAA Final Four teams. As a senior in 2017, he earned second team all-region and first team All-RMAC and Gold Glove awards while leading the conference in doubles and runs scored.
A native of Las Vegas, Nevada, earned his B.S. in Exercise Science in 2018 from CMU and plans to attend medical school.
