After a brilliant 4-year playing career at CMU, Kellie Mrofcza is now serving as the Mavericks’ student assistant coach as she finishes her degree in psychology, which she plans to complete in December, 2019.
After a standout high school and club career in her native Colorado Springs and at Vista Ridge High School, where she played for her father Brent, Mrofcza made an immediate and long-lasting impact with the Mavericks as a 4-year starter as a utility player and outfielder before making the move to shortstop for her final two seasons.
Starting 200 games and winning four straight RMAC Regular season titles as a player, Mrofcza hit .359 throughout her career, banging out 202 hits, including 44 doubles and 22 home runs. She also scored 183 runs and drove in 163 and ranks amongst the school’s all-time leaders in several categories.
She also helped lead the Mavericks to the NCAA Tournament in each of her four years as a student-athlete and earned D2CCA Honorable Mention All-America and First Team All-South Central Region honors as a utility player during her 2017 sophomore season. She was also a 3-time overall and 2-time First Team All-RMAC selection.
She also shined academically earning a spot on the RMAC All-Academic team three times and was selected to the Google Cloud Academic All-District Team as a senior in 2019.
