2024 (As a Junior): Started all 57 of the Mavs’ games at second base while claiming Honorable Mention All-RMAC honors… Hit .316 (54-171) at the plate, playing in the heart of the Maverick lineup between the No. 3 and 6 spots in all 57 games… Hit 25 extra-base hits, including 13 home runs helping CMU hit a Division II record 123 as a team… Also had ten doubles and was tied for the team lead with two triples… Scored 44 runs while driving in 45… Registered 107 total bases and a .626 slugging percentage… Drew 16 walks and was hit a team-high seven times… Struck out just 14 times… Had two sacrifice flies, two sacrifice bunts and stole two bases… Was also strong defensively, recording a .962 fielding percentage with 93 putouts and 83 assists… Helped turn 19 of the Mavs’ school-record 32 doubles plays… Recorded 12 multiple-hit games, including a 4-for-5, 5-RBI contest at UCCS… Hit two home runs in that Mar. 10 game… Also homered in the second game of that day’s doubleheader finishing the day with seven RBIs… Also hat a 3-hit game against Chadron State on Apr. 7 during a reached base safely streak of 15 games.
Before CMU: Spent the 2022 and 2023 seasons at NCAA Division I and Colonial Athletic Association member College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina… Played in 32 games, making 28 starts as a freshman, mostly at second base… Recorded 11 hits, including three doubles and a homer… Drove in four runs, hitting her first career home run while also singling against the South Carolina Gamecocks…. Played in seven games, making two starts at shortstop as a sophomore… Went 2-for-9 (.222) with a double and two RBIs at the plate.
Prep: 2021 graduate of Regis Jesuit High School…. Coached by Meredith Fike… Helped lead the Raiders to their first state title in 2018 before they won another two years later… Was a 4-year All-Continental League pick… Also earned all-state honors as both a junior and senior… Recorded 57 RBIs throughout he career and hit .326 or higher in all four years… Hit .475 as a junior and .408 as sophomore, when she was named as the team’s offensive player of the year… Also played lacrosse for three years and was named as the team’s defensive award winner as a freshman… Was on the honor roll all four years of her prep career.
Summer Ball: Played for the Colorado Styxx and Tennessee Mojo… Coached by Pablo Severtson and Chris West.
Personal: Is majoring in business administration with a concentration in international business… Daughter of Beth and Doug Valdez… Brother Max is on the Maverick baseball team… Aspires to travel abroad and work internationally… Loves to travel, hike and hang out with friends.
