2023-24 Outdoor (Senior): Capped his career with an impressive season, highlighted by First Team USTFCCCA All-America and RMAC Championship Athlete of the Meet honors… Also garnered all-region honors in both the high and triple jumps… Took seventh in the triple jump at the NCAA Division II Championships, his first national meet… Set a career-best wind-aided mark of 14.54 meters (50-8.25) to do so… Also had a wind-legal attempt of 15.30 meters (50-2.5) in the same series to rank fourth in CMU history… Was also ranked second on the RMAC season-long performance list behind only teammate and fellow all-American Miller Jones… Had qualified as the No. 15 seed for the national meet thanks to a RMAC Championship mark of 15.17 meters (49-9.25), which was good for one of his three silver medals at the RMAC Championships… Named as the Dr. Randy Rhine Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Performer of the Meet after scoring 24 team points to lead all athletes at the RMAC Championships… Also took second in the high and long jumps… Set a career-best long jump mark of 7.39 meters (24-3) to rank fourth in program history… Was also fourth on the RMAC list and 39th nationally in that discipline… Cleared 2.04 meters (6-8.25) in the rain during the RMAC Championships… Cleared a season-best 2.07 meters (6-9.5) to win the event at the Maverick Invite #2… Stands fourth in school history and on the season-long RMAC performers list with that effort… Was tied for 35
th on the national list... Had seven top-3 finishes throughout the season.
2023-24 Indoor (Redshirt Junior): Jumped in five meets, including the RMAC Championships, where he scored 15 team points in his three events… Was an NCAA Championship provisional qualifier in each… Earned the silver medal and a First Team All-RMAC certificate in the high jump after taking second place with a career-best mark of 2.10 meters (6-10.75)… Was ranked third on the RMAC season-long performance list and tied for 21st nationally… Is ranked fourth in program history as well… Earned USTFCCCA All-South Central Region honors in the high jump… Also claimed a Second Team All-RMAC honor in the triple jump after placing fourth with a mark of 14.58 meters (47-10)… That effort was just one centimeter off his season-best of 14.59m (47-10.5) at the Colorado Running Company Pre Holiday Invite & Multi, hosted by UCCS… Was ranked sixth in the RMAC, 47th nationally and sixth in CMU history with that effort… Took seventh at the RMAC Championships in the long jump with a mark of 7.09 meters (23-3.25)… Jumped more than seven meters in all five meets, recording a season-best of 7.22m (23-8.25) at the aforementioned UCCS meet… Is ranked fourth in CMU history with that mark, which also put him 11th on the RMAC season-long performance list and 52
nd nationally.
2023 Outdoor (Junior): Competed in five meets, including the RMAC Championships… Earned All-RMAC honors in all three jumping events after a break-out conference meet… Scored 18 ½ team points thanks to a second place finish in the triple jump, a third place (tie) finish in the high jump and a fourth place effort in the long jump… Was a First Team All-RMAC honoree in the high and triple jumps… Was a second team honoree in the long jump… Had a season-best long jump mark of 7.26 meters (23-10) at the RMAC meet… Had a season-best high jump clearance of 2.00 meters (6-6.75) at the Maverick Invite before clearing 1.99 meters (6-6.25) at the conference meet… Had a triple jump mark of 14.62 meters (47-11.75) at the conference championships before winning that event with a season-best mark of 14.86 meters (48-9) to win the discipline at the CSU Pueblo Last Chance Invitational… Had also won the at the Kit Mayer Classic with a mark of 14.85 meters (48-8.75)… Was ranked fifth on the RMAC performance list in both the triple and high jumps… Was ranked 11
th in the long jump… Was tied for 29
th on the national performance list in the triple jump.
2022-23 Indoor (Redshirt Sophomore): Jumped in five meets, including the RMAC Championships… Cleared a season-best 2.02 meters (6-7.5) in the high jump at the RMAC meet to place sixth and earn Second Team All-RMAC honors… Also scored in the long jump with a season-best jump of 7.09 meters (23-3.25) to place eighth… Had a triple jump mark of 14.22 meters (46-8) at the Mountaineer Open & Multi to begin the season, his lone attempt of the season at that discipline… Won the high jump at that same meet with mark of 2.00 meters… Also placed second with the same mark at the Mines Winter Classic.
2022 Outdoor (Sophomore): Competed in five meets, including the RMAC Championships… Contested the high jump at all five while contesting the long jump in four… Also contested the triple jump once… Placed fifth at the RMAC Championships in the high jump to earn his second Second Team All-RMAC honor of the academic year… Also scored one of his five total team points with an eighth place finish in the long jump… Had cleared a season-best 2.02 meters (6-7.5) in high jump to place second at the Maverick Invite #2 in order to qualify... Had a wind-aided season-best of 7.04 meters (23-1.25) in the long jump at the RMAC Championships… Had a wind-legal best of 6.96 meters (22-10) during his series at the Maverick Invite #2… Also had a wind-aided mark of 7.02 meters (23-0.5) to finish second on that day… Had a triple jump mark of 13.83 meters (45-4.5) at the Maverick Invite #1… Finished the season fourth (tie) on the RMAC season-long performance list in the high jump… Was 14
th in the long jump and 15
th in the triple jump… Had five top-3 finishes throughout the season.
2021-22 Indoor (Redshirt Freshman): Competed in six meets, qualifying for the RMAC Championships in all three jumping events… Finished fifth in the high jump to earn Second Team All-RMAC honors after clearing a season-best 1.98 meters (6-6)… Placed 12
th in both the long and triple jumps… Is tied for seventh in CMU history with that high jump mark… Was also ninth on the RMAC season-long performers list… Had a season-best triple jump mark of 13.94 meters (45-9) at the Mountaineer Open & Multi… Had a performance of 13.74 meters (45-1) at the RMAC Championships… Posted a season-best long jump mark of 6.94 meters (22-9.25) at the Mines Winter Classic… Jumped 6.73 meters (22-1) at the RMAC meet… Had four top-3 and six top-5 finishes throughout the season.
2021 Outdoor (Freshman): Competed for the team in one meet, contesting the long jump at the Maverick Sun Classic… Finished fourth with a leap of 6.43 meters (21-1.25)... Also competed unattached in the earlier two home meets, posting a long jump mark of 6.31 meters (20-8.5) at the Maverick Multi & Open after clearing 1.80 meters (5-10.75) in the high jump and turning in a mark of 13.63 meters (44-8.75) in the triple jump at the Maverick Open.

2021 Indoor (Freshman): Competed in each of CMU’s three regular season meets of the abbreviated season… Had two third place finishes in the high jump before clearing a season-best 1.87 meters (6-1.5) at the CRC UCCS Open… Also had a season-best long jump mark of 6.25 meters (20-6.25) at that meet.
Prep: 2020 graduate of the Jefferson Academy… Was a 2-time team MVP for the Jaguars… Coached by Eric Thimsen... Placed at state in three events as a junior in 2019 before his senior campaign was canceled… Finished second in the long jump and sixth in both the triple and high jump… Had wind-aided PRs of 22-5 ¾ and 44-9 ½ at the state meet… Won all three events at the 3A Metro League Championships… Also had a high jump PR of 6-4 to claim one of four junior season wins in 2019… Finished fifth in the triple jump and seventh in the high jump as a sophomore at the 2018 state meet… Was the team’s freshman of the year in 2017.
Personal: Is majoring in business marketing... Ideally, wants to be a marketing director at Red Bull.… Son of Justin Buckhold and Swanhilda Lily… Has an older brother- Icarus… Loves being in the water... Also likes to play music and embrace the beautiful parts of Grand Junction.
