2023-24 Indoor (Junior): Competed in the high jump at one meet, clearing 1.93 meters (6-4) to place fifth at the Colorado Running Company Pre-Holiday Invite at UCCS.
2023 Outdoor (Sophomore): High jumped in four meets, including the RMAC Championships… Had a season-best clearance of 1.85 meters (6-0.75) at the Maverick Invite before getting over 1.84 meters (6-0.5) at the RMAC meet to finish 16th… Also competed in the long jump at the Maverick Invite, his lone effort at that discipline… Had a leap of 6.07 meters (19-11).
2022-23 Indoor (Sophomore): Competed in the high jump at five meets, including the RMAC Championships… Set a career-best of 1.95 meters (6-4.75) at the Western Colorado Alumni Open to qualify… Is tied for ninth in program history with that effort… Finished 13
th at the conference meet with a clearance of 1.87 meters (6-1.5).
2022 Outdoor (Freshman): Competed in the high jump at five meets, including the RMAC Championships… Also contested the long jump at two of the five meets… Placed tenth in the high jump at the RMAC Championships with a clearance of 1.88 meters (6-2) after qualifying with a season-best of 1.90 meters (6-2.75) at the Maverick Invite #1… Had a wind-aided best of 6.41 meters (21-.05) in the long jump at the Maverick Invite #2… Also had a wind-legal season-best of 6.26 meters during his jumping series at that meet.
2021-22 Indoor (Freshman): Competed in three meets, contesting the high jump at each… Posted a season-best of 1.81 meters (5-11.25) in the high jump at the Western Colorado Alumni Open… Also attempted the long jump for the first and only time that season, recording a mark of 6.27 meters (20-7) at that meet.
Prep: Won the high jump title while placing eighth in the long jump at the 2021 Utah State Championships while competing for the Uintah High School Bears… 2021 graduate of the school… Coached by Richard Henderson… Set a PR of 6-4 to win the state title… Had a long jump PR of 21-5.5 earlier in the season at the BYU High School Invitational, where he finished fifth… Won Eastern Utah Championships in both events and claimed seven total wins during his senior campaign… Had also qualified for the state meet in the high jump as a sophomore in 2019, finishing 13th.
Personal: Is majoring in accounting…. Wants to enter the accounting field after graduation and possible open his own CPA firm… Son of Scott and Charly Briggs… Has two younger siblings— Masen and Charlie... Likes to hunt, fish and do anything outdoors... Also enjoys surfing, knee-boarding and tubing."
