2023-24 Indoor (Redshirt Junior): Named to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll… Ran in one meet, posting a 5K time of 16:25.74 at the Big Red Machine Open.
2023 Outdoor (Redshirt Junior): Did not compete.
2022-23 Indoor (Redshirt Sophomore): Ran the 5,000 meters at two meets… Posted a season-best time of 16:31.87 to finish seventh at the Mountaineer Open in December… Named to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll.
2022 Outdoor (Redshirt Sophomore): Ran in three meets, including the RMAC Championships… Finished 15
th in the 10K at the conference meet with a time of 32:38.42… Had posted a career-best time of 32:12.69 at the Maverick Invite to qualify… Ranks sixth in program history with that time… Ran the 5K in 15:58.12 at the Maverick Invite #2… Named to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll.
2021-22 Indoor (Redshirt Freshman): Ran in distance events at three meets… Set times of 4:46.20 (mile) and 9:26.84 (3K) in his only attempts at those distances at the Don Kirby Open & Elite… Ran the 5,000 meters at both the Mountaineer Open & Multi and Mines Winter Classic… Turned in a season-best time of 16:11.63 at the Mines Winter Classic… Also ran on a distance medley relay team at the Mountaineer Open & Multi, helping the Mavs to a time of 11:24.44… Named to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll.
2021 Outdoor (Redshirt Freshman): Competed in each of CMU’s three home meets and the RMAC Championships… Ran the 10,000 meters three times, posting a season-best of 32:19.30 at the Maverick Multi & Open… Took 19
th in that event at the RMAC Championships with a time of 33:26.59… Had run the 1,500 meters, the 5,000 meters and on a 4x400-meter relay at the Maverick Open… Posted times of 4:19.53 and 15:46.50 in the individual events while the Mavs’ “C” squad posted a mark of 3:44.30 in the relay.
2021 Indoor (Redshirt Freshman): Competed in each of CMU's three regular season meets during the abbreviated season... Posted a time of 4:51.67 in the mile at the Western Slope Challenge in his indoor debut... Ran the 5,000 meters at the other two meets, posting a season-best of 16:26.60 at the CRC UCCS Open.
Before CMU: Ran for the University of Alaska Fairbanks Nanooks for 1 1/2 years… Finished two races as a sophomore in 2019 finishing 15
th in the Blue & Gold Run Fest, a home dual against Alaska Anchorage, and 67
th in the Ash Creek Festival… Finished the 7K Blue & Gold Run Fest in 25:00.6 as the Nanooks’ sixth runner… Clocked a 6K time of 20:56.4 at the Ash Creek Festival in Monmouth, Oregon as the team’s fifth runner helping the team to an eighth place finish… Finished four races as a freshman in 2018, clocking an 8K PR of 30:48.0 to place 67
th at the Emerald City Open in Seattle… Ran a 10K time of 37:31 at the Western Washington Classic two weeks later… Finished 135
th in that race… Had a 19
th place finish in the Skinny Raven UAA/UAF Dual to begin the season and took 131
st at the SMU Ken Garland Classic… Posted a 5K time of 17:48.53 in his lone collegiate track meet in the spring of 2019 as part of a cross country team spring trip.
Prep: Graduated from Lathrop HS in 2018… Ran for the Malemutes, members of the Mid-Alaska Conference... Finished 43rd at the Alaska State XC Championships as a senior in 2017 and finishing 50th as a junior in the fall of 2016... Had track PRs of 4:59.89 (1600) and 11:11.20 (3200) as a junior in 2017... Set an 800-meter PR of 2:15.30 in 2018.
Personal: Is pursuing an MBA after completing his bachelor's degree in statistics… Son of Rebecca Miller and Dave Sanches… Has a younger sister named Audrey…Has a dream career of working in analytics for a professional sports organization.
Why I Chose CMU: “While looking for a transfer, I was looking for a school where I could continue running, while also studying mechanical engineering. I was drawn to Colorado the whole time, and CMU ended up being the best fit."
