th in the 200… Had a wind-aided season-best 100 time of 10.65 at the Maverick Invite & Multi before posting another wind-aided time of 10.78 at the conference meet… Set a wind-legal career-best of 10.84 at the CSU Pueblo Spank Blasing… Turned in a wind-legal time of 21.89 in the 200 at the conference meet after setting a wind-aided season-best of 21.53 at the CSU Pueblo Spank Blasing… Helped the Mavs win the 4x100-meter relay at both regular season meets… Those times of 41.07 and 41.13 rank tenth and 12
th in program history… Named to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll.
2023-24 Indoor (Redshirt Junior): RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll pick… Sprinted in four meets, running the 200 meters at each… Qualified for the RMAC Championships with a converted season-best time of 22.21 (22.48-actual) at the Mountaineer Open, when he finished second to open the season… Posted an actual season-best time of 22.24 at the New Mexico Team Open… Ranks eighth in program history with that mark… Placed 17
th at the conference meet with a time of 23.03 seconds… Also competed in the 60 meters at three regular season meets… Posted identical season-best marks of 6.99 in the prelims and finals at the Big Red Machine Open.
2023 Outdoor (Redshirt Sophomore): Competed in three meets, including the RMAC Championships… Qualified in both the 100 and 200 meters, placing 12
th in the 100 and 18
th in the 200 with times of 10.87 and 22.33 seconds… Had set a season-best of 10.86 two weeks earlier in the 100 at the Maverick Invite… Had a season-best time of 21.90 in the 200 at the Kit Mayer Classic… Helped the Mavs win the 4x100-meter relay in 40.97 seconds at the Maverick Invite, the ninth fastest time in CMU history... Named to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll.
2022-23 Indoor (Redshirt Sophomore): Competed in five meets, including the RMAC Championships… Ran the 200 meters at each and the 60 meters in all but one… Finished 18
th in the 200 at the conference meet… Had a season-best time of 22.34 at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic… Had a career-best time of 6.96 seconds in the 60 meters at the Western Colorado Open, finishing third in the best of his three top-5 finishes… Named to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll.
2022 Outdoor (Redshirt Freshman): Ran the 100 and 200 meters in five events, including the RMAC Championships… Placed 11
th in the 200 (22.15) and 13
th in the 100 (10.98) at the conference meet… Qualified with season-best times of 10.86 and 21.71, both of which were turned in at the Maverick Invite… Ranks seventh in program history with that 200-meter time… Won the 200 at both the Maverick Invite #2 and Maverick Top Gun Last Chance Meet… Placed in the top-5 in four meets… Ran on the Mavs’ 4x100-meter relay team at the Colorado Invitational… Helped the Mavs to a second place time of 41.11 seconds, which is 11th fastest in school history.
2021-22 Indoor (Redshirt Freshman): Competed in six meets, qualifying for the RMAC Championships in the 200 meters… Finished 15
th with a time of 22.80 seconds… Had run a season-best time of 22.48 seconds at the Don Kirby Open & Elite… Had placed second with an altitude and track-size adjusted time of 22.30 seconds (22.57-actual) at the Western Colorado Alumni Open… Also placed second in the same venue during the Mountaineer Open & Multi… Also ran the 60 meters throughout the season… Posted a career-best time of 7.06 seconds at the Mountaineer Open & Multi.
2021 (Freshman): Redshirted during both the indoor and outdoor seasons.
Prep: Was a First Team All-East Metro Athletic Conference relay runner for the Chris Carhart coached Rangeview HS Raiders... Earned those honors in the 4x100 in 2018 and the 4x200 in 2019… Was an athletic honor roll pick as well… Set a 200-meter PR of 22.63 to win the Rangeview Raider Kickoff Invitational in the lone meet of his 2020 senior season, most of which ended up being canceled due to COVID-19… Had set a PR of 7.39 in the 60 meters during the 2020 indoor season… Had a wind-aided 100-meter PR of 11.72 to finish seventh at the Colorado USATF Junior Championships during the 2019 outdoor season.
Personal: Is majoring in civil engineering… Son of Gwen Mason and Keith Rees… Would like to own his own company.
Why I Chose CMU: “I chose CMU because of how big of a chance the coaches gave me to come here and succeed and how great the atmosphere is on campus and in practice.”
