024 Outdoor (Junior): Redshirt season… Competed unattached in three early season meets… Set a javelin throw mark of 57.91 meters at the CSU Pueblo Spank Blasing… Had a season-best hammer throw effort of 55.42 meters at the Maverick Invite & Multi.
2023-24 Indoor (Redshirt Sophomore): Threw in five meets, contesting the weight throw in all five as well as the shot put in three… Set a career-best weight throw mark of 16.12 meters (52-10.75) to take 11
th at the RMAC Championships… Ranks ninth in school history with that performance… Set a career-best shot put mark of 13.05 meters (42-9.75) at the Big Red Machine Open.
2023 Outdoor (Sophomore): Competed in six meets, contesting the javelin throw at each… Also three the hammer at four of them… Won the RMAC title in the javelin throw with a school-record mark of 62.10 meters (203-9)… Led the RMAC’s season-long performance list with that NCAA Championship provisional qualifying mark… Also earned USTFCCCA All-South Central Region honors with it… Was ranked fourth on the regional performers list and 27
th on the national list… Also claimed victory at the CSU Pueblo Open while placing second in three of his other four meets… Set a season-best hammer throw of 49.32 meters (161-10) at the Maverick Invite… Ranks ninth in program history with that mark.
2022-23 Indoor (Redshirt Freshman): Competed in five meets, throwing the 35-point weight at all five and competing in the shot put in four… Had a season-best mark of 12.18 meters (39-11.5) in the shot put at the Western Colorado Open before capping his season with a season-best weight throw mark of 15.25 meters (50-0.5) at the Western Colorado Alumni Open.
2022 (Freshman): Late addition to the track & field squad after being on the football team in the fall… Competed in the javelin throw in five outdoor meets… Competed unattached at the Maverick Invite #1 before representing the team at the Colorado Invitational a week later… Finished 11
th at the RMAC Championships with a mark of 47.83 meters (156-11)… Set a season-best of 55.27 meters (181-4) a week later to claim victory at the Maverick Top Gun Last Chance Meet… Led the team with that effort, which also put him sixth on the RMAC’s season-long performers list.
Prep:Â Â Multiple-sport standout for the Tigers of Summit High School... Was a 2021 graduate of the school, who was recruited to CMU for football... Won the high jump at the 4A Western Slope League Championships and was an all-state selection... Was a 3-time First Team All-WSLÂ selection in football...All-State honorable mention quarterback in 2020... Was the team's MVP twice... Earned two First Team All-WSL honors in basketball... Was an honorable mention all-state pick on the hardwood... Led the Tigers in scoring.
Personal: Majoring in construction management... Hopes to become a project manager and an all-American in the javelin throw... Son of Carole Young...Has one sibling, Graham... Loves music and fishing of all sorts... Also plays video games and loves competition.
