2019 Outdoor (Freshman): Competed in four meets, contesting two decathlons... Took sixth in that event at the RMAC Championships to earn Second Team All-RMAC honors for the second time in 2019... Scored a PR 5,691 points to rank seventh in program history... Was sixth on the RMAC's season-long performance list with that score... Also competed in the 110-meter hurdles at the conference meet, finishing 12th in 15.92 seconds... Had run 15.13w in that event to finish third at the Mines Kit Mayer Invite and ranks fifth in program history with a wind-legal time of 15.55 in that event... Was tied for seventh on the RMAC's season-long performers list with his altitude adjusted best of 15.17... Had other season-best times of 53.23 (400), and 5:05.07 (1500)... Other field event best marks are 1.77m/5-9.75 (high jump), 3.40m/11-1.75 (pole vault), 6.21m/20-4.5 (long jump), 9.96m/32-8.25 (shot put), 30.31m/99-5 (discus throw) and 39.33m/129-0 (javelin).
2018-19 Indoor (Freshman): Competed in seven meets, contesting three heptathlons... Finished sixth in that event at the RMAC Championships with 4,381 points to earn Second Team All-RMAC honors... Had turned in a season-best of 4,502 points two weeks earlier at the Adams State NCAA Qualifier and ranks sixth in school-history with that point total... Was ranked ninth on the RMAC's season-long performers list with a track and altitude-adjusted mark of 4,526... Also competed in the 60-meter hurdles at the RMAC meet, finishing 14th in 8.77 seconds... Had run a season-best time of 8.61 to rank sixth in program history at the Colorado Invitational... Is also tied for eighth in Maverick history with his high jump season-best of 1.89m (6-2.25) and ranks ninth with his 1,000m time of 3:01.58 during his first collegiate heptathlon at the Mines Alumni Classic & Multi... Other season-bests were 7.30 (60m), 23.39 (200m), 3.45m/11-3.75 (pole vault), 6.41m/21-0.5 (long jump) and 10.62m/34-10.25 (shot put).
Prep: Set PR’s of 39.67 (300) and 15.07 (wind-aided; 110) in the hurdling events at the 2018 4A State Championships for the Glenwood Springs HS Demons… Placed sixth in the 300 and seventh in the 110… Had taken seventh in the 300 as a junior in 2017… Won the decathlon at the 2017 Colorado USATF Junior Olympic Championships with 5,297 points.
Personal: Is majoring in exercise science… Wants to start his own physical therapy business.
Why I Chose CMU: “I wanted to stay close to home and be in an environment I am very comfortable in. CMU has great academic and athletic programs and I wanted to be a part of a quickly growing university.”
