• 2022 ITA West Region Rookie of the Year

2022-23 (As a Sophomore): Posted winning 4-3 singles and 6-5 doubles records during the spring season… Went 1-2 at No. 5 singles and a 3-1 mark at No. 6… Played doubles with Jorge Abreu… Went 5-5 at No. 3 and 0-1 at No. 2.

2021-22 (As a Freshman): Recorded an impressive debut season, leading the team in singles wins (11) while tying for the team lead in doubles victories (9)… Was recognized as the ITA’s West Region Rookie of the Year… Was 11-12 overall and 9-10 in duals in singles action… Was 9-6 at No. 6 and 0-4 at No. 5… Won four of his final seven singles matches… Played doubles with three different partners, going 5-6 overall and 3-4 at No. 3 singles with Jandre van Wyk… Advanced to the quarterfinals of the ITA West Regional… Also had a 4-4 record at No. 3 doubles with fellow newcomer Jorge Abreu… Also played doubles with Moises Cure once… Had a 9-11 total doubles record, including a 7-9 mark in duals, all at No. 3.

Prep: Named as the area player of the year for both years that he played high school tennis for The Thunder Ridge Titans, coached by his father Heath… Finished with a 55-1 record while winning the 5A Idaho State Championship… Was ranked in the top 10 of the Intermountain Section from 12’s through 18’s.

Personal: Is undecided upon a major… Son of Heath and Heidi Hartman… Has three siblings— Kyler, Journee and Jerzie… Kyler was a former collegiate player at Idaho State… Enjoys mountain biking, skiing, riding motorcycles and 4-wheelers.

Why I Chose CMU: “This was a great opportunity to pursue tennis and get a college degree with lots of different options and degrees available.”
