As a Junior (2024-25): Posted a 9-11 singles record and 1-4 doubles record… Received an ITA Scholar-Athlete award… Named to the Academic All-PacWest team for the third straight year… Had an 8-9 record in singles during dual meets… Played mostly at No. 6, going 7-8 in that flight… Was 1-1 in a pair of No. 5 starts… Played with three different partners in doubles, going 1-2 in spot dual starts.
As a Sophomore (2023-24): Went 10-14 in singes play, including a 6-11 dual meet record… Played mostly at No. 3, going 5-9… Also won a match at both No. 2 and No. 4… Was 8-17 in doubles play, including a 7-14 dual record… Played in all three flights, but was primarily at No. 3, going 4-10… Had three different partners, going 3-8 with Jorge Abreu, 4-5 with Henry Scheck and 1-4 with Philemon Jabin… Named to the Academic All-Pac West Team for the second straight year.
As a Freshman (2022-23): Claimed 15 wins in his freshman season, going 9-7 in singles and 6-7 in doubles… Posted an 8-5 singles records in duals… Went a perfect 5-0 at No. 6 before moving up into the No. 4, 5 and even 3 spots of the lineup down the stretch… Was 5-6 in doubles during duals… Went 4-4 at No. 2, 1-1 at No 1 and 0-1 at No. 3… Played with four doubles partners, going 3-4 with William Leschig... Named to the Academic All-PacWest team.
Prep: 2022 graduate of the Weil Tennis Preparatory School in Ojai, California… Advanced to the Quarterfinals of the 50
th Banana Bowl tournament in 2020, one of the most important international junior tournaments… Had a No. 7 national ranking that year, winning a national singles tournament while advancing to the finals of national doubles tournament… Was also a national finalist in 2019… Helped his Esporte Clube Pinheiros team win a regional team title in 2019… Had a No. 1 national ranking in 2018, making five national tournament finals in singles while winning two national tournament doubles crowns.
Personal: Is majoring in business… Son of Alexandro and Katia Manzano… Has an older sister named Beatriz Manzano.
Why I Chose CMU: “I chose CMU because I really enjoyed the campus. It's all brand new, and also because of the tennis program it caught my attention for all the structure they have. The people on the team are amazing.”
