As a Junior (2023-24): Competed in six meets… Set several personal-bests as an exhibition swimmer at the RMAC Championships… Posted NCAA Championship provisional qualifying altitude-adjusted times of 1:40.01 (200 Free) and 1:50.76 (200 IM)… Also had a season-best 200 Breast time of 2:03.60 (converted)… Set other season-best times of 1:00.05 (100 Breast), 54.31 (100 Fly) and 4:02.12 (400 IM) during the TYR/CMU Invitational… The 400 IM time was also a personal-best… Was named to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll.
As a Sophomore (2022-23): Competed in ten meets, including the RMAC Championships… Scored in all four of his individual and five total events at the conference meet… Combined for 29 team points in the individual events, finishing eighth in the 200 breast, tenth in the 100 breast, 11
th in the 200 IM and 12
th in the 400 IM… Set a new season-best of 4:04.34 in the 400 IM… Also anchored the Mavs win the “B” heat of the 200 medley relay… Had set other season-bests of 57.59 (100 Breast), 2:03.54 (200 Breast) and 1:51.54 (200 IM) during the TYR CMU Invitational… Named to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll.
As a Freshman (2021-22): Competed in nine meets, including the RMAC Championships as an exhibition swimmer… Posted altitude-adjusted season-bests of 51.64 (100 fly) and 1:52.56 (200 IM) during the conference meet… Had other bests of 47.10 (100 free), 58.28 (100 breast) and 2:05.92 (200 breast) during the A3 Performance Invitational, as he recorded three top-8 and four scoring efforts in the fall semester finale… Was named as a Second Team CSCAA Scholar All-American.
Prep: Set school records in the 200 IM (1:54.59) and 100 breast (58.74) for the Samantha Coon coached Timber Creek HS Falcons… Finished fourth in both events at the UIL 6A Region 1 Championships as a senior in 2021… Named as team’s best swimmer of the year.
Personal: Originally hails from Belo Horiztone Brazil... Is majoring in exercise science and plans for a sports medicine career… Son of Luciano and Sandra Viana… Has one sister— Laura… Enjoys playing video games and other sports like soccer, basketball and tennis.
