2024-25 (Sophomore @ Saint Ambrose): Earned four all-America honors at the NAIA National Championships… Placed fifth in the 500 Free (4:31.29) while helping the Bees to fifth, sixth and eighth place finishes in the 400 medley, 400 free and 800 free relays, respectively… Helped lead the Bees to an eighth place finish as a team… Posted a career-best 500 Free finish of 4:30.01 in the preliminary round… Also took ninth in the 200 Free with a career-best of 1:38.61… Placed 11th in the 1650 Free in a career-best time of 16:13.81… Won three individual and six total Liberal Arts Conference titles, taking the crowns in the 200 Free, 500 Free, 1650 Free as well as the 400 Free and 400 Medley relays to lead the Bees to a third straight team title… Was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team… Was also named as an NAIA Scholar-Athlete and as a CSCAA Scholar All-American.

2023-24 (Freshman @ Saint Ambrose): Earned five NAIA All-America honors, placing sixth in the 500 Free and eighth in the 1650 Free… Also helped the Bees to all-America honors in the 800 Free (5th), 400 Free (6th) and 400 Medley (7th) relays… Also placed tenth in the 200 Free… Won the Liberal Arts Conference in the 200 Free and the 400 Free Relay… Took second in the 500 and 1650 Free as well as the 800 Free Relay.

Prep: Graduated from Deutschorden-Gymnasium Bad Mergentheim… Coached by Olaf Schulze

Personal: Is majoring in mechanical engineering… Aspires to grow as an individual, improve his athletic performances and to later pursue a career as an engineer… Son of Jochen and Juliane Friess… Has three younger siblings— Jakob, Jolina and Julia… Likes to be outside with friends and enjoys to ski, play golf or tennis.
