2017-18 (Sophomore): Competed in five meets, including the RMAC Championships... Scored in all four of his individual events, placing 11th in the 200 breast, 13th in the 400 IM and 16th in both the 1000 free and 100 breast... Had personal-best times of 58.26 (100) and 2:05.42 (200) in the prelims of both breaststroke events... Other season-best times were 4:39.70 (500 free), 9:41.25 (1000 free), 16:10.18 (1650 free), 2:02.67 (200 IM), and 4:06.10 (400 (IM).

2016-17 (Freshman): Placed seventh in the 1650 free (16:04.55) at the RMAC Championships... Also placed ninth in the 400 IM (4:00.54), 10th in the 1000 free (9:33.94) and 13th in the 500 free (4:39.53) with altitude-adjusted personal-best times.

High School: School record holder in the 200 individual medley for the Smoky Hill Buffalos...  Was coached by Scott Cohen... Centennial League champion in the 100 fly... Fastest freshman in the 100 breaststroke in Colorado history...Qualified for junior nationals in the 200 breaststroke. 

Personal: Son of Clint and Shelly Mercer...Brother to Justin, Ashley, Casey... Is majoring in English and wants to become a high school English teacher and swim coach.
