Career Honors

• 2x RMAC All-Acdemic Honor Roll (2021-22 & 2022-23)

As a Redshirt Junior (2022-23): Swam in six meets, including the RMAC Championships… Was an exhibition swimmer at the conference championships… Had set season-best times of 21.15 (50 free), 46.37 (100 free), 50.48 (100 fly) and 1:58.08 (200 fly) during the TYR CMU Invitational… Named to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll.

As a Redshirt Sophomore (2021-22): 2021-22: Competed in six meets, including the RMAC Championships as an exhibition swimmer… Set new-personal altitude-adjusted best times of 46.20 (100 free), 50.43 (100 fly) and 1:55.65 (200 fly) at the conference meet… Had a 50 free personal best of 20.93 at the A3 Performance Invitational… Named to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll.

As a Sophomore (2020-21): Competed in five meets, during the pandemic-effected season… Won the 200 fly at the Grand Junction Invitational with an altitude-adjusted personal best of 1:52.80 to cap his season… Had other season-best times of 22.54 (50 free), 1:52.09 (200 free) and 53.33 (100 fly).

As a Freshman (2019-20): Competed in five meets… Was an exhibition swimmer at the RMAC Championships… Set personal-best times  of 50.83 (100 fly) and 1:53.60 (200 fly) at that meet… Also had a season-best of 47.74 (100 free) there… Turned in a season-best of 21.61 in the 50 free at the A3 Performance Invitational.

Prep: Qualified for the CIF State Championship in the 100 free as a senior in May, 2019... Swam for the Murrieta Valley HS Nighthawks of the Southwestern League..

Personal: Is majoring in biological sciences... Son of Kira and Charley Hartwell... Older brother is Jack... Younger sister is Lilly... Plans on becoming an anesthesiologist and going to med school following his time at CMU.

Why I Chose CMU: "CMU had all the perfect opportunities I was searching for. The swim program is team oriented and just what I wanted. The pre-med programs also caught my eye and CMU will help me pursue my career goals."
