Biography
2024-25 (Redshirt Senior): Played in one tournament as an individual, recording a 54-hole score of 233 (+17) to finish in 29th place at The Writz at Mile High… Had a best round of 76 (+4) in the final round.
2023-24 (Redshirt Junior): Played in five tournaments, four of them as an individual… Averaged 77.07 strokes in 14 competitive rounds… Represented the team at The Writz at Mile High, finishing 42nd after recording back-to-back rounds of 73 in the opening two rounds… Had a season-best 54-hole team score of 227 at the Centennial Cup.
2022-23 (Redshirt Sophomore): Played in six tournaments, including one as an individual… Averaged 75.00 strokes over 17 rounds… Had a season-low round of 69 at the Ryan Palmer Foundation Invite… Also had a season-best 54-hole score of 215 at that tournament… Posted five par or better rounds.
2021-22 (Redshirt Freshman): Played in five tournaments during the spring season, including each of the three championship events… Recorded a 74.73 scoring average in 15 rounds, third lowest on the squad… Had three rounds in the 60’s and five of par or better… Tied for fourth at the Southern Colorado Masters… Was second on the team and tied for 15th overall at the NCAA Division II West/South Central Super Regional… Had his two lowest scores of the season and a low-54 hole total of 211 at that tournament, helping the Mavs qualify for the national tournament for the first time… Tied for 34th at the RMAC Championships and 87th at the NCAA Division II National Championships.
2020-21 (Freshman): Redshirt season.
Prep: Placed sixth at both the 2019 and 2020 Arizona Division II Golf Championships while playing for the Mohave Accelerated Learning Center HS Patriots, coached by his father Scott… Had finished 13th as a sophomore… Won the Kingman Invitational and Lake Havasu Invitational Championships in both 2019 and 2020 as well.
Personal: Is majoring in business administration… Son of Scott and Kori Gillman… Has a younger sister (Hailey)… Aspires for a career in marketing for a golf company or trying to make it as a professional golfer… Enjoys singing, playing basketball and watching sports.
Why I Chose CMU: “I chose CMU because I loved the campus and the Grand Junction area. Coach (Scott) Sullivan also represented the school very well and he played big part in my decision to choose CMU.”
