As a Redshirt Senior (2023): Ran in four meets, including both championships as a veteran presence on an otherwise young Mavericks lineup… Finished 79th at the RMAC Championships as the Mavs’ second finisher… Took 141st at the NCAA Division II South Central Regionals… Had posted a career-best 8K time of 25:45.6 at the Lewis Crossover, where he finished 138th overall and fourth on the team… Took 43rd to open the season at the Mountaineer Invite... Named to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll.

2022: Competed unattached at the Durango Open, held in conjunction with the RMAC Championships at Hillcrest Golf Club… Finished 23rd with an 8K time of 27:54.6.

As a Redshirt Junior (2021): Ran in all six of CMU’s meets, including both the RMAC and NCAA Division II South Central Regional Championships… Placed 67th at the regional in Lubbock, Texas with a career-best 10K time of 32:24.2… Was the team’s fourth finisher that race… Placed 34th as the Mavs’ No. 5 man at the RMAC Championships, posting a career-best 8K time of 26:23.6… Had a season-best finish of 15th place at the Gig Leadbetter Maverick Stampede mid-season before placing 153rd at the Chile Pepper Festival… Had began the year with 31st and 34th place finishes at the UCCS Rust Buster and Western Colorado’s Mountaineer/Cowboy Invite… Selected to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's All-Academic Athlete list and to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll.

As a Junior (2020): Competed in all four of the Mavs' meets... Finished 72nd at the RMAC Championships with an 8K PR of 27:50.3 as the team's seventh runner... Was also the team's seventh runner at the D2 XC National Invite, where placed 65th overall... Posted a time of 34:38.9 in his first 10K effort... Also finished 47th at the Mountaineer/Cowboy Invite and 59th at the Maverick Invitational earlier in the season.

Before CMU: Ran for the University of Alaska Fairbanks Nanooks for 1 1/2 years… Finished two races as a sophomore in 2018 finishing 15th in the Blue & Gold Run Fest, a home dual against Alaska Anchorage, and 67th in the Ash Creek Festival… Finished the 7K Blue & Gold Run Fest in 25:00.6 as the Nanooks’ sixth runner… Clocked a 6K time of 20:56.4 at the Ash Creek Festival in Monmouth, Oregon as the team’s fifth runner helping the team to an eighth place finish... Finished four races as a freshman in 2018, clocking an 8K PR of 30:48.0 to place 67th at the Emerald City Open in Seattle… Ran a 10K time of 37:31 at the Western Washington Classic two weeks later… Finished 135th in that race… Had a 19th place finish in the Skinny Raven UAA/UAF Dual to begin the season and took 131st at the SMU Ken Garland Classic… Posted a 5K time of 17:48.53 in his lone collegiate track meet in the spring of 2019 as part of a cross country team spring trip.
 
Prep: Graduated from Lathrop HS in 2018… Ran for the Malemutes, members of the Mid-Alaska Conference... Finished 43rd at the Alaska State XC Championships as a senior in 2017 and finishing 50th as a junior in the fall of 2016... Had track PRs of 4:59.89 (1600) and 11:11.20 (3200) as a junior in 2017... Set an 800-meter PR of 2:15.30 in 2018.
 
Personal: Is pursuing an MBA after completing his bachelor's degree in statistics… Son of Rebecca Miller and Dave Sanches… Has a younger sister named Audrey…Has a dream career of working in analytics for a professional sports organization.
 
Why I Chose CMU: “While looking for a transfer, I was looking for a school where I could continue running, while also studying mechanical engineering. I was drawn to Colorado the whole time, and CMU ended up being the best fit.”
