th at the regional meet… Set PR times of 26:09.2 (8K) and 34:26.5 (10K) at the championship meets… Started the year as the Mavs’ No. 3 man at the Mountaineer/Cowboy Open, recording a 17

Prep: 2022 graduate of Gunnison High School… Was coached by Lance Betts and Blake Davis… Was a 4-time state qualifier in cross country and a 2-time state qualifier in track… Finished 11
th in the 3,200 meters as both a junior and senior after running a PR of 9:51.95 earlier in his 2022 senior season… Won the league title as well… Finished 25
th at the 3A State Cross Country Championships in the fall of 2021 after finishing second at the regional meet, one of five top-5 finishes he had throughout the year… Had placed 40
th at the state meet as a junior in 2020… Placed 37
th at the NXR Southwest Regional meet with a XC PR of 17:05.80.
Personal: Is majoring in computer science… Intends to purse a career as a software engineer or in cybersecurity… Son of Wade and Nichole Baker… Has two younger siblings— Hayden and Ian… Likes to game and hang out with friends as well as going on long runs.
Why I Chose CMU: “I wanted to be a part of an up and coming team and I loved the system Coach Niksic has in place. The campus also has lots of opportunities and has the college feel.”
