As a Freshman (2022):
Redshirt season… Competed unattached in two early-season meets… Finished 48th at the Mountaineer/Cowboy Invite and 49th at the Gig Leadbetter Maverick Stampede… Posted a season-best 8K time of 28:09.5 in the latter.

Prep: Was a 3-year varsity team member for the Austin High School Maroons before graduating in 2022… Coached by Mark Pinales… Received the team’s most improved award during his junior track season… Received academic all-district honors as a senior after posting straight A’s… Placed 16th at the UIL 6A-District 26 Championships in cross country as a senior in the fall of 2021… Went on to finish 58th at the regional championships… Had a XC PR of 16:47.50 to begin the season at the Chaparral Invitational… Set a 1,600 track PR of 4:46.53 as a senior in 2022.

Personal: Is majoring in business finance… Would like to obtain an MBA in CMU’s 5-year program… Son of Brandon and Kim Batiansila… Has a younger brother— Luke… Enjoys running, lifting, art and cooking.

Why  I Chose CMU: “I chose CMU because it was a perfect school that has my degree I'm into.  I wanted to run at a D2/D3 school relatively close to Texas.”
