As a Redshirt Sophomore (2024): Ran in all five of the Mavs’ meets as one of the team’s most consistent performers… Led the team for the first time in his career at the RMAC Championships, placing 44
th with a career-best 8K time of 25:45.9… Was the team’s No. 2 man in three other races, including the NCAA South Central Regionals… Placed 60
th at the regional with a 10K career-best of 33:39.5… Was also the Mavs’ No. 2 man at the Roadrunners Invitational (44
th) and Lewis Crossover (168
th)… Started the year with a 19
th place finish as the Mavs’ fourth finisher at the Mountaineer/Cowboy Open.
As a Redshirt Freshman (2023): Ran in four meets, including both championship meets, as a regular in the Mavs’ top seven… Finished 130
th at the NCAA Division II South Central Regionals, posting a 10K time of 34:36.4 in his lone attempt at that distance, which put him fifth on the Maverick squad… Had finished 92
nd overall and sixth on the team at the RMAC Championships… Set a season-best 8K time of 26:04.3 to finish 167
th at the Lewis Crossover after opening the season with a 25
th place finish and 8K time of 26:52.6 at the Mountaineer Invite.
As a Freshman (2022): Redshirt season… Competed unattached in two meets… Finished 24
th at the Mountaineer/Cowboy Open and 34
th at the Maverick Stampede… Had a season-best 8K time of 26:19 at the home meet.
Prep: 2022 graduate of Mead High School… Coached by Alex Garcia… Finished 50
th at the 4A State Cross Country Championships as a senior in the fall of 2021… Had set a XC PR of 17:08.50 to take tenth at the regional after finishing 11
th at the NCAC League Championships… Went on to finish 98
th at the NXR Southwest Region... Set track PRs of 4:42.32 (1600) and 10:23.24 (3200) in the spring of 2022.
Personal: Is majoring in business administration… Son of Julye and Jason Cox.
