Colorado Mesa University Athletics

Phil enters his 40^th year as an Assistant Coach for Colorado Mesa University. His primary responsibilities include helping with the outfielders and in the bullpen on gamedays. Phil has been with the Maverick baseball program since 1986.
 
Coach McCowen is a retiree from the Rio Grande railroad business where he spent 33 years.
 
Phil is a graduate of Cal State-Chico where he was a 4 year starter at Pitcher and First base.
