2023 Outdoor (Redshirt Junior): Ran the 110-meter hurdles in four meets, including the RMAC Championships… Posted a season-best time of 15.33 seconds in the preliminary round of the conference meet to qualify for the finals, where he finished eighth in 15.81… Was ranked tenth on the RMAC season-long performance list with his altitude-adjusted time of 15.37… Named to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll.

2022-23 (Redshirt Junior): Ran the 60-meter hurdles at five meets, including the RMAC Championships… Placed 12th at the conference meet with a season-best time of 8.66 seconds… Named to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll.

2022 Outdoor (Redshirt Sophomore): Competed in five meets, contesting the 110-meter hurdles at each… Also ran in the 100 and 200 meters… Had a wind-aided season-best time of 14.93 seconds to win the hurdles at the Maverick Invite #2 a week after posting his wind-legal season-best of 15.12 at the Colorado Invitational… Finished 11th at the RMAC Championships with a time of 17.95 seconds… Posted a 100-meter time of 11.14 seconds at the Colorado Invitational in his first and only career effort in that discipline… Posted times of 22.96 seconds in both of his 200-meter runs at the Maverick Invites… Named to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll.

2021-22 Indoor (Redshirt Sophomore): Contested the 60-meter hurdles at five meets, including the RMAC Championships… Ran a career-best time of 8.18 seconds in the preliminary heats at the conference meet before finishing eighth in the finals with a mark of 8.35… Ranks fourth in program history with his time of 8.18… Was ranked tenth on the RMAC’s season-long performance list with his altitude-converted, yet NCAA Championship provisional qualifying time of 8.22… Was tied for 53rd nationally… Had a pair of second place finishes early in the season… Named to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll... Would go on to be named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team for the 2021-22 academic year.

2021 Outdoor (Redshirt Freshman): Competed in all three home meets, running the 110-meter hurdles in each… Also ran in the 200 meters, the 400-meter hurdles and on a 4x100-meter relay team… Had a career-best time of 14.88 in the 100-meter hurdles to take second at the Maverick Sun Classic… Ranks fifth in program history with that time, which also put him sixth on the season-long performance list with the altitude-adjusted mark of 14.92… Had won that event to establish the first track record (since broken) of 15.07 at the Maverick Open… Also took second at the Maverick Multi & Open… Set a time of 58.12 seconds in the 400-meter hurdles… Ran the 200 meters in 22.66 seconds at the Maverick Sun Classic… Helped the Mavs to a time of 42.47 seconds in the 4x100-meter relay at the Maverick Open… Named to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll.
 
2021 Indoor (Sophomore): Competed in four meets, including the RMAC Championships, during the abbreviated season… Ran the 60-meter hurdles at each, posting a season-best time of 8.19 seconds to place third and earn First Team All-RMAC honors… That NCAA Division II Championship provisional qualifying time put him fourth on the RMAC season-long performance list with the conversion to 8.21 seconds… Was also tied for 28th nationally… Also ran on CMU’s sixth place 4x400-meter relay team at the RMAC Championships… Ran the 200 meters in 23.66 seconds at the Adams State Grizzly Open in his lone attempt at that discipline… Earned USTFCCCA All-Academic and RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll plaudits.

2020 Outdoor: Season canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

2019-20 Indoor (Freshman): Competed in the 60-meter hurdles at six meets, including the RMAC Championships… Finished fourth at the conference meet to earn Second Team All-RMAC honors… Finished in 8.32 seconds… Finished in the top four at five of his six meets… Took second at the Mines Winter Classic in 8.34 seconds, his second fastest time of the year… Also ran the 60 and 200 meters at the Western Colorado Open to begin the season… Had times of 7.21 and 23.61 seconds on that day (Dec. 7).
 
Prep: Won the 2019 3A CHSAA state title in the 110-meter hurdles with a PR of 14.31(w) as a senior with the Darwin Horan coached Lutheran HS Lions... Also placed third in the 300 hurdles after running a PR of 39.46 in the prelims... Was a state qualifier in the 100 meters as well... Holds a PR of 11.40... Won the 3A Metro League crown in both hurdling events... Graduated in 2019 with a 4.3 GPA.

Personal: Majoring in graphic design... Son of Tracey and Dean Hanson... Brother Matt competed n track and field for UCCS... Relative Marcus played football at the U.S. Naval Academy... Aspires to work in branding and package design.. Enjoys playing guitar, off-roading and hunting.

Why I Chose CMU: "The outdoor program, outdoor things to do in the area, awesome coaches, a good graphic design program and it felt like home."
