Indoor Volleyball Bio
As a Redshirt Junior (2021): Posted a 2-17 overall record, playing mostly in the top flight with partner Holly Schmidt... They duo was 2-13 at the No. 1 position recording wins over Utah and Catawba... Also went 0-4 with Sabrina VanDeList on the opening weekend of the season, going 0-3 in the No. 4 position at the Cactus Classic before losing a Pairs Challenge match on the following day.
As a Redshirt Sophomore (2020): Played with partner Holly Schmidt in the top flight... Went 0-3 at the Arizona Invitational, CMU's lone action of the season before the COVID-19 outbreak... Took their middle match against Stephen F. Austin's Iris Fletcher and Corin Evans to three sets.
Before CMU: Attended and played indoor volleyball at Division I Colorado State University for two years before joining the CMU programs for the 2019-20 academic year.
Prep: Was a 4-year
letterwinner as a defensive specialist and outside hitter for the Bayfield Wolverines, coached by her mother Terene… Was on the
AVCA Under Armour All-America watch list for 2016 after receiving Intermountain League Player of the Year honors as both a junior (2015) and senior (2016)… Was a 2-time team captain… Was on the CHSAA Academic All-State team… Also lettered in basketball and track.
Club: Played for the Four Corners Volleyball Club, also coached by her mother… Participated in the USA Volleyball High Performance Program for five years and competed internationally, winning the Gold Championship at the EU Global Challenge in Croatia.
Personal: Daughter of Mike and Terene Foutz, a former award-winning Maverick player and assistant coach… Has one younger brother, John… Likes to hike, draw and watch sports… Double majoring in exercise science and fitness & health promotion.
Career Aspirations: “I want to become an occupational therapist, to hopefully empower and strengthen people who might need a different approach when performing any activity in their lives.”
Why I Chose CMU: “I chose CMU for the great coaches, the friendly team, and the beautiful campus. I know I will be pushed and challenged both academically and athletically to become a better, stronger, more confident version of myself. Grand Junction is a wonderful place to be year round and is full of community support for volleyball and athletics.”
