2019-20 (Junior): Competed in a team-high 11 meets during a stellar season… Named as the RMAC Championship Swimmer of the Meet after winning four total events and scoring a meet-high 72 team points in his four individual events… Claimed victory in the 500 free, 1000 free and 1650 free earning First Team All-RMAC honors in each… Also did the same as the second leg on the Mavs’ winning 800 free relay team… Finished seventh in the 200 back, held just minutes after his 1650 free, after setting the top qualifying time in the morning preliminary session of the 200 back… Set season-best altitude-adjusted times of 4:27.86 and 9:20.88 in the 500 and 1,000 free, respectively… Had a personal-best 200 back time of 1:47.09 in the preliminaries to rank second in program history behind only now assistant coach Justin Hastings… Was invited to the NCAA Division II national championships in both the 200 back and 1650 free after posting an altitude-adjusted season-best of 15:36.06 en-route to victory in that event at the A3 Performance Invitational… Was also set to swim in the 500 and 1000 free with his other “B” cut times, but was only able to contest the 1000 free before the COVID-19 pandemic canceled the national meet after 1 ½ days… Finished 34th in that event with a time of 9:38.50… Was awarded a pair of first team all-America honors from the CSCAA by virtue of his invited status in the 200 back and 1650 free… Also had a personal-best and NCAA “B” cut time of 1:39.90 in the 200 free, set at the Grand Junction Invitational, a last chance meet… Had an impressive season from the start, earning RMAC Swimmer of the Week honors on two occasions while claiming 14 total event victories… Won the Horsetooth Open Water Swim by nearly two minutes, finishing that 2.4-mile course in 50:48 to begin his season… Claimed 500 free victory at the Intermountain Shootout against Division I competition in his and CMU’s first pool meet of the campaign… Garnered the initial RMAC Swimmer of the Week (Oct. 9) honor for that effort… Won three events on Oct. 18 at Division I BYU before taking the 1000 free at Adams State a week later as he took the Oct. 30 RMAC Swimmer of the Week honor… Also won the 1000 free on Nov. 1 at the Air Force Duals… After winning the 1650 free at the A3 Performance, he won both the 500 and 1000 free against Mines on Jan. 10-11 in his final tune-up for the conference championship… Was named to the RMAC All-Academic First Team... Was tabbed to the CSCAA Scholar All-America team for the third straight year.

2018-19 (Sophomore): Competed in all eight of the Mavs’ swimming meets, including the RMAC and NCAA Division II National Championships… Earned CSCAA Honorable Mention All-America honors as a member of CMU’s 14th place 800 free relay team (6:37.60)… Also qualified for the national meet in four individual events, placing 23rd in the back, 28th in the 1,000 free, 30th in the 500 free and 31st in the 1650 free… Earned Second Team All-RMAC honors in each of his individual events at the RMAC Championships… Placed third in the 500 free, 1650 free and 400 IM, posting a personal-best time of 4:02.43 in the IM... Also finished fourth in the 1,000 free with a season-best time of 9:16.59 and fifth as a member of the Mavs’ 800 free relay “B” team… Had a stellar start to the season earning three of the RMAC’s first four RMAC Swimmer of the Week awards… Earned those plaudits on Oct. 10, Oct. 24 and Nov. 21… Was named as the Swimmer of the Meet at the A3 Performance Invitational after sweeping the distance freestyle events while placing fifth in the 200 back… Posted team-leading and national qualifying times of 4:27.86 (500 free), 9:16.64 (1000 free), 15:33.01 (1650 free) in his victorious events… Ranks second in program history with each of those times… Won the 500 free at the Intermountain Shootout to open the season after being named to the Preseason All-RMAC team… Won the 1000 free at the BYU dual and the Air Force Duals in October… Claimed the 400 IM at the Jan. 11-12 dual at Mines... Was named to the CSCAA Scholar All-America team for the second straight year and was a RMAC All-Academic First Team selection.

2017-18 (Freshman): Competed in eight meets, including the RMAC and NCAA Division II Championships.... Finished in the top eight in all four of his individual events at the conference meet, taking third in the 1000 free and fourth in the 1650 free to earn Second Team All-RMAC honors in each... Also placed sixth in the 500 free and eighth in the 200 back... Finished 19th in the 200 back, 19th in the 1650 free, 28th in the 1000 free and 32nd in the 500 free at the NCAA Division II National Championships...  Helped the Mavs place 17th in the 800 free relay at the national meet as well... Swam on two "B" relays at the conference meet... Had season-best times of 51.17 (100 Back), 1:47.80 (200 back), 4:30.36 (500 free), 9:16.59 (1000 free), 15:39.21 (1650 free)... Ranks ninth in program history for the 100 back, with that medley relay split... Won the 500 free at the Colorado College Classic after winning four events in a Jan. 4-5 home dual against Mines... Earned CSCAA Scholar All-America honors.

Prep/Club: Has best times of 4:32.73 (500 free), 9:25.37 (1000 Free), 15:49.37 (1650  Free) and 1:51.60 (200 Back)... Regularly competed for the SK Neptun Leimen club team and internationally at the Luxembourg Euro Meet finishing 16th in the 1500m freestyle and 19th in both the 400m freestyle and 400m individual medley in January, 2017... Was the 2018 German Junior Champion in the 200 back in between his freshman and sophomore seasons at CMU... Finished sixth in that event at the senior level in the 2019 German National Championships with a personal-best LCM time of 2:06.18... Also took 13th in the 1500 free, 23rd in the 800 free and 29th in the 200 free.
 
Personal: Is majoring in business with emphases in finance and management... Wants to earn a master's degree and work in an international company... Son of Heike and Michael Rau... Has a sister, Robin.
