2019 Outdoor (Redshirt Junior): Ran the 10,000 meters in four meets... Set a school-record time of 30:51.95 to finish second at the Oxy Invitational to close out the season... Had placed 13th at the RMAC Championships two weeks earlier... RMAC All-Academic Honor Rol selection.

2019 Indoor (Redshirt Junior): Ran the 5,000 meters at three meets, posting a season-best time of 16:09.68 to win at the season-opening Western Colorado Open... Earned First Team RMAC All-Academic Honors for the third career time.

2018 Outdoor (Redshirt Sophomore): Ran in three meets, including the RMAC Championships... Posted a season-best time of 32:45.11 to place eighth in the 10K while earning a team point... Finished second in the 5K with a season-best time of 16:05.70 at the Western/Gunnison HS Combined Invitational... RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll pick.

2017-18 Indoor (Redshirt Sophomore): Competed in two meets... Ran the 3,000 in a career-best 9:20.49 to finish fourth at the Western Alumni Open... Ranks eighth in program history with that time... Ran a career-best time of 15:52.11, fifth fastest in program history, in the 5,000 at the Colorado Invitational... RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll pick.

2017 Outdoor (Redshirt Freshman): All-RMAC Academic Honor Roll selection... Competed in three meets... Finished 21st in the 5,000 meters at the RMAC Championships... Had a season-best time of 16:03.35 in that even to place second at the Maroon Classic & Multi... Ranks eighth in program history with that time... Ran a career-best time of 4:21.93 in the 1,500 meters at the Western State/Gunnison HS Combined Invitational.

2016-17 Indoor (Redshirt Freshman): Did not compete.

2015-16 (Freshman): Redshirt season during both the indoor and outdoor seasons.

Prep: Placed fifth at the 4A Region 4 Cross Country Championships as both a junior (2013) and senior (2014) while running for the Berthoud High School Spartans… Won both the Liberty Bell Invitational and Littleton Runners Roost Invitational as a senior… Had a XC PR of 16:19 at the Liberty Bell… Also competed at the state championships in both of those years finishing 66th (2014) and 75th (2013)... Took second at the Tri Valley League meet (2014) and third (2013)... Set a 1600m track PR of 4:36.89 to place second at the league meet as a senior (2015)... Won the 3200m title at the Weld County Championships that year with a PR of 9:53.27.

Personal: Son of Chris and Lisa Spitz… Sister Josei is a pole vaulter at Colorado State University… Is majoring in business with a concentration in finance… Chose CMU because of the opportunity to run on the cross country and track teams.
