Biography

Before CMU: Set the school-record in the 50 free (21.44), 100 free (46.84), 100 fly (51.59) and 400 medley relay (3:35.40) as a freshman at NCAA Division II Davis & Elkins College in Elkins, West Virginia... Was a second team all-conference selection for the Senators... Qualified for the finals at the Great Midwest & Mountain East Conference Championships in three events, finishing fourth in the 100 fly, fifth in the 100 free and seventh in the 50 free... Also took ninth in the 100 back after posing a career-best time of 54.15... Had a season-best time of 1:06.77 in the 100 breast.

Prep: Graduated from Hanford HS in 2017 as the school-record holder in the 100 free (47.01)... Coached by his mother, Kristina... Was a 4-year team MVP and the Bullpups' team captain from 2014-17... Qualified for the 2017 California CIF State Championships in 2017... Named as the Kings County Swimmer of the Year three times... Was an All-Western Yosemite League performer in all four years of his career... Was a CIF Division II Valley Swimming Championship Finalist in all for years... Was a scholar athlete for seven years... Received the CIF Pillars of Character Award during all four years.

Club: Swam for coach Phil Black and the Tule Nation Tritons... Was a junior olympic qualifier and finalist from 2008-14... Was a Far Westerns qualifier from 2008-12, a zone qualifier in 2012 and a Speedo Grand Challenge qualifier and finalist in 2012.  Personal: Is majoring in computer science and computer engineering... Son of Gary and Kristina Giles... Sister is Hannah Lamphere... Plans to go to the Air Force after graduation.. Enjoys going on adventures in national pakrs and other regional forests... Enjoys camping, hiking, hunting, fishing and off-roading... Also enjoys gaming and graphic design when at home.
