COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.- The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference released its Players of the Week for men's soccer, and Colorado Mesa was honored as
Nathan Beck won Goalkeeper of the Week. He is the first Mav to win the award this season.
This is the first time Beck has been honored and he is the first Maverick goalkeeper to be awarded since Diego Chavez won it on Sept. 24, 2024.
Beck played all 90 minutes in both games against CSU Pueblo and UCCS. He totaled 15 saves on a whopping 48 shots faced. He made six saves in a landmark victory against #2 UCCS and a career-high nine saves in a draw against #13 CSU Pueblo.
It is the first time a Mavs goalkeeper has made nine saves in a single game since Chavez's nine save performance against Regis on Oct. 3, 2024.
On the season so far Beck has made 36 saves on 131 shots faced, good for a save percentage of .072%. Beck has played the second-most minutes for the Mavs with 778, just behind
George Jones.
Beck will look to continue his good form as the Mavs travel to Alamosa to take on Adams State this Friday. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. at ASU Soccer Field.
