TYLER, Texas – The No. 13 Colorado Mesa baseball season came to an end on Saturday (May 17) afternoon after suffering their second loss of the NCAA South Central Region Tournament to Texas-Tyler 14-4.
The Patriots built a 6-0 lead before the Mavericks could get on the board.
TJ Rheem laced a double into the left center gap that brought home
Stevenson Reynolds to cut the lead to 6-1 after five innings of play.
The dagger came in the top half of the sixth inning when the Patriots scored seven runs on six hits in the frame to mount a 13-1 lead at the time.
Cameron Cartwright stepped to the plate and hammered the first pitch he saw over the wall in left field for a three-run home run. It was his 21
st home run of the season and RBIs 79, 80, and 81 on the season that cut into the Patriot lead to 13-4.
The Mavericks surrendered a run in the top of the ninth to cap the scoring in the game.

Sage Ferguson taking the loss to drop to 3-2 on the season.
Colorado Mesa finishes the season with a 42-14 record.
