Nampa, Idaho – A couple of long goals and a defensive second half led to the #10 CMU Women's Soccer team starting their season off 0-0-1 as they would fare a 2-2 draw against non-conference opponent Chaminade University.
The Mavs who start their season on a two-game road trip in Idaho, quickly went down 1-0 in the match as only two minutes in, Chaminade was able to score on a defensive miscue by Colorado Mesa. Isabella Narvaez would score the goal while being assisted by Kenna Kiefer to score the first goal of the Silversword's season.
After a couple of close corner kick attempts that would miss high and wide, the Mavs would answer back in the 34
th minute of the first half as sophomore
Sarah Dunn would score the first goal of the Mav's season in an unassisted shot from nearly midfield. Her long-range shot would be the final offense of the first half as after 45 minutes the game would be at a 1-1 tie.
The Silverswords, who scored quickly in the first half, would repeat that success in the second as in the 50
thminute, Haley Mo'okini would launch a long free kick from nearly midfield to just get over goalkeeper

th minute she too would score an unassisted goal to even the playing field at 2-2.
The Mavs would attempt three more shots after Mair's goal, but all would be unsuccessful as Chaminade's defense prevailed to hold the Mav's offense.
