SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Colorado Mesa baseball team fell in game two of the NCAA South Central Super Regional with a 6-0 loss to the Angelo State Rams on Saturday (May 27) afternoon at Foster Field.
The Mavericks were able to get seven hits off Ram starter Kade Bragg but were unable to get any to come around and score. They stranded 10 runners on base including two in the first and sixth innings.
In the first inning,
Julian Boyd singled and stole second followed by a
Conrad Villafuerte sharply hit ball to center field that Boyd had to hold on and only made it to third base. A strikeout and a ground out ended that threat.

Harrison Rodgers, and
Jonathan Gonzalez all finished the game with two hits.
Robert Sharrar had the lone extra base-hit for the Mavericks with a double in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Freshman
Liam Hohenstein got the start and suffered his first loss of his collegiate career. He allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits, walked four and struck out five in four innings of work.
The Mavericks season comes to a close with a 48-11 overall record.
