Grand Junction, CO - Fall of 2021 was a huge year of growth for CMU Esports. We saw 60+ new students join our organization and were able to fill both JV and Varsity teams in multiple sports, including Overwatch, Valorant and Rocket League. We competed through PlayVs in the Fall of 2021, playing against other teams across the nation. In the Spring of 2022, we changed our competitive structure and played through NECC Esports. We brought on Sean Harwell to coach Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and with his leadership and hard work, CMU Esports began to host local tournaments on campus for Smash bros.
This year, CMU Esports has grown again- this time adding another new coach, Brandon Kendall, to coach Apex Legends. This year, CMU Esports offers 6 different titles to compete through, with 74 spots available on varying teams. Opportunities for both JV and Varsity are available through tryouts! We expect to grow by another 60 or so members this year and are looking forward to a competitive tryout season and year of intense national competition. Contact any of our listed coaches if you have questions, or stop by our arena, located across from the 12
th street parking garage in the Rotary Hall.
