DENVER, Colo. – The Colorado Mesa women's basketball team fell behind 23-9 after the first quarter but were either even or won the quarter for the final three frames but it wasn't enough in a 65-59 loss to the Regis Rangers on Friday evening in Regis Fieldhouse.
Regis led by as many as 16 points in the game that came late in the second quarter but Colorado Mesa drew to within one with 3:47 to play in the game after
Sophie Anderson hit a jumper to make it 55-54.
The Rangers went on a 5-0 run in just under two minutes which put the game out of reach.

Natalie Bartle tied for the game-high with 20 points while teammate
Kylyn Rigsby finished with 19 points and a team-high nine rebounds.
The Mavericks were just 4-for-20 from the three-point line with two of those coming off the hand of Rigsby while Regis shot 42.6 percent from the field and 41.2 percent from the three-point line, making seven three-pointers.
Regis' Whitney Jacob also tied for the game-high 20 points and finished the eight rebounds.
The Mavericks will take on No. 25 Colorado School of Mines on Saturday to close out the road portion of the schedule this year.
