Hitting the Glass: Rebounds Lead Mavericks to win over #23 CSU Pueblo

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The Colorado Mesa women's basketball team closed out the first half of the season on a high note. The Mavericks did all the dirty work in a 60-50 win over No. 23 CSU Pueblo on Saturday evening in Brownson Arena in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action.

Colorado Mesa outrebounded the Pack 47-25 in the game including a 20-5 advantage on the offensive end. Sophie Anderson finished the game with eight rebounds including a game-high six offensive rebounds. The Paonia native had four of those offensive rebounds in the second half.

The large advantage on the offensive glass led the Mavericks to a 19-2 advantage in second chance points.

Where the Mavericks had the advantage on second chance points, the Pack had an advantage in fast break points. CSU Pueblo held a 19-7 edge in transition as most of those came off the 19 Maverick turnovers in the game.
