PUEBLO, Colo. – The Colorado Mesa men's tennis team took on one of their toughest opponents they will face all season long in 19
th-ranked Midwestern State. The Mavericks fell 8-1 against the Mustangs on Friday at City Park.
The Mavericks lone point of the dual came at No. 2 doubles where
Alain De La Bastide and
Lucas Martin picked up a hard fought 9-8 (8-6) win over Vasudev Vijayaraman and Denney Norrie.
Colorado Mesa lost the six singles matches with all coming in straight sets.
Will Agritelley dropped his match at No. 5 singles to Jean Muniz of Midwestern State 6-2 then fell in a hard-fought second set tiebreaker 7-4.
The Mavericks will close out the weekend with a conference dual with CSU-Pueblo at 10am at City Park.
