GOLDEN, Colo.-  In the final match of the 2018 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament the Mavericks fell 0-2 to Colorado School of Mines. This was only the Mavericks third loss of the year. After Sunday's match their record fell to 13-3-4 overall.

This was the Maverick's fourth consecutive year playing in the RMAC Tournament Championships and their second consecutive year playing against Colorado School of Mines.

The Mavericks will await a NCAA Tournament berth. The selection show will take place tomorrow evening at 6:00 Eastern Time via web stream on NCAA.com. The south central region will select four teams to compete in the 2018 NCAA Tournament.

Recap

The Mavericks utilized nine reserves throughout the match and attempted four more shots than the Orediggers but no Maverick found the back of the net. In each of the Maverick's three losses this year they have been shut out.

Peter Vandam and Kevin Del Mazo lead the team with three shots each. Vandam and Taka Kosins lead the team in shots on goal at two each.

Thirty minutes into the first half the Orediggers moved the ball down the left side of the field and attempted to cross the ball at the end line. The pass deflected off a Maverick defender and into the Maverick's goal.  This was the Maverick's second own goal of the season.

The Mavericks attempted one more shot after their own goal in an attempt to redeem themselves before half time.

Within the first minute of the second half the Orediggers netted their second goal.

The Mavericks followed with nine shots of their own and three shots on goal. Two of the three shots on goal were taken by Kosins and one by Vandam.

Lawan Abary, Kevin Del Mazo, and James McGhee were all named to the 2018 RMAC All-Tournament team.

During the tournament these three combined for two assists and two goals. One of these goals was Abary's semi-final overtime goal that pushed the Mavericks to the final match of the tournament.
