Dixie State Defeats Mavericks 0-3

ST. GEORGE, Utah-  The Colorado Mesa women's soccer team fell 0-3 in a contest against the Trailblazers Thursday night in St. George, Utah. The Mavericks overall record fell to 6-6-4 overall and 4-5-3 in the RMAC. After the RMAC matches completed Thursday night the Mavericks sit in 9th place in RMAC women's soccer standings.

Recap

Emily Signorio recorded another start at goalkeeper for the Mavericks making this her ninth start on the season.

In the first half the Mavericks did not attempt a shot and Signorio recorded six saves. Signorio and the Mavericks defense defended ten shot attempts by the Trailblazers. The Mavericks were able to outlast each shot and hold the Trailblazers to zero goals in the first half.

In the beginning of the first half Taylor Jones attempted the first shot of the game for the Mavericks. Her shot was saved by the Trailblazer's goalkeeper who earned two the entire match.

Thirty second after this shot attempted in the 46th minute of the match the Trailblazers netted the first goal of the game. Four minutes later they netted their second putting the Mavericks behind two goals. The Mavericks did not attempt another shot before they netted their third goal in the 57th minute of the match.

Signorio recorded her final and tenth save of the match in the 78th minute. Following this the Mavericks took two more shots one of which was saved.

Saturday's Match

The Mavericks will finish their regular season this Saturday in Salt Lake City, Utah. The Griffins of Westminster will host the Mavericks on their home turf at 1:30 pm Saturday afternoon.
