DENVER – The Colorado Mesa University women's lacrosse season came to an end with a 14-12 loss at Regis in the semifinals of the RMAC Tournament Friday (May 5).
The Rangers scored the first goal of the game but the Mavericks answered with goals from 
Olivia Hayden and 
Jessica Cook.
RU scored two, but CMU regained the lead with goals from 
Olivia Hayden and 
Lindsi Peters.
The Rangers took a 5-4 lead with two straight goals, but 
Olivia Hayden tied the game with her third goal at 8:50.
The two teams alternated goals with 
Olivia Hayden's fourth goal tying the game with 67 seconds left in the first.
Lauren Hurd scored for Regis with 42 seconds remaining to give the Rangers an 8-7 lead at half.
Regis opened the second half on a three-goal run to lead 11-7.
CMU scored five of the next seven goals to cut the deficit to 13-12.
Rachael Walker scored the final goal for Regis.
Mesa out-shot Regis 24-22. The Mavericks led 14-13 in ground balls and 15-13 in draw controls.
Jillian Pfeifer earned the loss allowing 10 goals and making one save. 
Kierstin Elder made one save and allowed four goals in 15 minutes of relief work.
Colorado Mesa finishes the season 13-4 overall. The team's 13 wins are a program record.
