Colorado Mesa University's women's soccer team was on the road on Sunday squaring off against Adams State University. After 110 minutes of action on Sunday, both teams were only able to put in a goal a piece on the day, ending the game in a 1-1 tie.
CMU scored first in the 41st minute of the game.
Zoe Peterson was able to fire in a shot off of the keepers hands to score her second goal of the year. The Mavericks went into the half with the 1-0 lead. ASU was able to score their lone goal in the 63rd minute to tie the game back up at 1-1. The goal came on an open net off of a set piece by the Grizzlies.
CMU doubled up the Grizzlies in shots on goal (10-4) but were unable to capitalize on the extra shot attempts.Â
Jessica Jolley got the start in net for the Mavericks. She finished with the one goal allowed and three saves.
The tie moves the Mavericks to 6-7-1 on the year and 3-5-1 in the RMAC. CMU currently sits in ninth place in the conference.
The Mavericks will now come home for two games this weekend against CSU-Pueblo and New Mexico Highlands. CMU only has three games remaining before the RMAC playoffs begin on Nov. 1.
