ST. CHARLES, MO – The Colorado Mesa University women's lacrosse season came to an end with a 12-8 loss to Regis in the semifinals of the RMAC Tournament Friday (May 6).
Colorado Mesa finishes the season with an 11-4 record, the best in school history.
The Rangers opened the contest by scoring four of the first five goals of the game.
Jessica Cook scored back-to-back goals to close the RU lead to 4-3 with under eight minutes to go in the first half.
A free position shot by Erin Todd at 2:46 gave Regis a 5-3 lead at halftime.
The Rangers opened the second scoring seven of the first nine goals.
Olivia Hayden started a comeback for the Mavs with just under five minutes remaining to cut the Regis lead in half, 12-6.
Lydia Furrow scored with 86 second remaining and 
Jessica Cook netted the hat trick with a goal with 22 seconds remaining.
Jillian Pfeifer allowed 11 of the 12 goals and made nine saves in the loss for CMU.
Regis led in shots (28-24), ground balls (17-13) and draw controls (14-8).
