GRAND JUNCTION, COLO – The Colorado Mesa women's soccer team fell 1-0 to MSU Denver in the first round of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament in overtime Wednesday (Nov. 2) at Walker Field.
The Mavericks and the Roadrunners went head to head for both halves of the match. Both teams having five shots in the first half, the Mavericks with three on goal and the Roadrunners with two on goal.
The second half the Mavericks had six shots, with two on goal. The Roadrunners took five shots, with two on goal.
The Mavericks had an opportunity to score in the 63
rd minute when
Heidi Wendt hit one off the cross bar, followed by a shot just left of the goal by
Taylor Bruno.
In the 96
th minute Alexie Marr for the Roadrunners flicked the ball past the keeper off a corner kick by Elise Boisnard.
The Mavericks end their season with a 9-8-2 overall record.
