Box Score SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Colorado Mesa jumped out to a 3-0 lead after one half and cruised to a 4-0 win over the Westminster Griffins in a matchup of Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference soccer teams in a non-RMAC match at Dumke Field on Wednesday afternoon.
Oscar Odriozola started the scoring in the 28
th minute with a goal that came off a free kick by
Luis Schraidt. The goal was Odriozola's fourth of the season.
Just over two minutes later, junior
Roy Abergil made a little more history. Abergil scored his seventh goal of the season that was assisted by Odriozola and
Kevin Escobar. The goal gave him 42 points in his career which put him as the number one point scorer in program history eclipsing the mark set by Eric Anderson in 2007-2008.
Kevin Del Mazo scored his third goal of the season in the 40
th minute. Del Mazo chipped the ball over the keeper from about 20 yards out to give Colorado Mesa the 3-0 lead at half.
Freshman
Jacob Dominguez put the finishing touches on the scoring for the Mavericks with his second goal of the season in the 83
rd minute.
The Mavericks outshot the Griffins 21-8 in the match.

Briley Guarneri picked up the shutout win, making three saves in the match.
Colorado Mesa will return home for a match on Sunday at Walker Field against the CSU-Pueblo ThunderWolves.
