ORLANDO, Fla. - The Colorado Mesa University coed cheer team competed this afternoon in the Universal Cheerleaders Association College Nationals. The Mavericks came away with a second place finish, just behind Wilmington University and ahead of NCAA South Central region rival Midwestern State.

Last season, the Mavericks placed third at the National Championships.

The cheerleaders will be performing during basketball games as the spring semester begins.
