PUEBLO, Colorado – CSU-Pueblo scored two first half goals and the Colorado Mesa women's soccer couldn't recover in a 3-1 loss on Friday afternoon at Gonzales Field. The Mavericks drop to 0-5-2 on the season and 0-2-1 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
Colorado Mesa's lone goal came off the foot of
Marie Dreher in the 70
th minute. Dreher's first career goal came on a free kick from 22 yards out that found the side of the net. The goal drew the Mavericks to within one at the time.
Both teams finished the night with 16 total shots with the Mavericks getting the edge in the second half 11-8. Colorado Mesa also had one more shot on goal 7-6.
Colorado Mesa will return home for a match on Sunday with the Regis Rangers. The match is scheduled to begin at 1:00pm at Walker Field.
