Complete ResultsDENVER – The Colorado Mesa University swimming and diving teams won 11 events in a triangular with Colorado School of Mines and Div. I Northern Colorado Saturday (Nov. 15).
The Mavericks opened the meet with a sweep of the 200 medley relay. The women's team of Mary Saiz, Miranda Reetz, Hannah Mabile and Eryn Leonard won in a time of 1:50.86. The men's team of
Justin Hastings, Josh Bedford, Sky Hirsch and Zack Edgar won in a time of 1:35.52.
Kyle Johnston won the 200 free in 1:44.97, and Josh Bedford was third in 1:47.19. Johnston was second in the 200 fly (1:58.17).
Bedford won the 200 breaststroke (2:13.19), and Sky Hirsch won the 50 free (21.94).
Ryan Gifford was second in three events, 200 breaststroke (2:15.67), 500 free (4:52.31) and 1,650 free (17:12.58).
Miranda Reetz won two events finishing first in the 400 individual medley (4:44.61) and the 200 breaststroke (2:27.37).
Mary Saiz won the 200 backstroke by seven seconds (2:05.72) and finished second in the 50 free (25.05).
Sage D'Ambrosia won both the 1-meter (190.80) and 3-meter events (190.95). Amanda Jennings placed second on the women's 1-meter board (230.33).
Justin Hastings won the 200 backstroke by five seconds in 1:53.45.
Abby Porter finished second in both the 500 (5:24.04) and the 1,650 free (18:23.41).
Andrew Scott was second in the 400 individual medley (4:26.95), and Jason Hicks was third in the 1,650 free (17:41.78).
Eryn Leonard placed second in the 200 fly (2:15.71), and Abi Young was third in the 500 free (5:25.30).
The men's 400 free relay of Sky Hirsch, Zack Edgar, Kyle Johnston and
Justin Hastings was second (3:12.31).
The women's 400 free relay of Brianna Bearden, Olivia Hudson, Kendall Wingfield and Hailey Gerze was third in 3:53.35.
The CMU men defeated Colorado Mines 112-111. The Mesa women defeated Colorado Mines 159-77 but fell to Northern Colorado 151-92.Â
